Odisha NEET Merit List 2026 Released – What Does It Mean?
The Odisha NEET merit list is prepared by the OJEE Cell for candidates who registered for the state's MBBS/BDS admission process under the 85% state quota. It is not the same as your NEET UG All India Rank (AIR). Your AIR comes from NTA based on your NEET UG 2026 score, while your Odisha state rank is assigned after OJEE verifies your domicile, category, and documents, then ranks eligible registered candidates against each other. Only candidates who registered on the OJEE portal and completed the required verification process are eligible to appear on this list. Broadly, this means candidates who are permanent natives of Odisha, or children of All India Civil Service officers serving in the Odisha cadre, and who meet the age criterion of 17 years as on 31 December 2026. This list matters because it is the foundation for everything that follows — choice filling, seat allotment, and eventually admission. Without a valid position on the state merit list, a candidate cannot take part in Odisha's counselling rounds, regardless of how strong their NEET AIR is.
